MRC Annual Toy Appeal Returns

The Marlene Reid Centre will again be holding their annual toy appeal to benefit disadvantaged children facing hardship in North West Leicestershire.

The appeal runs each year on the generosity of local people ans businesses who rally together to ensure no one misses the Christmas cheer! All children are ages 0 to 18 years and are referred to the centre by a local authority organisation such as their school or health-care professional.

Last year saw over 250 children each receive a sack of toys who may otherwise have gone without this festive period.

Can you help us in our mission to reach every person with a little Christmas spirit this year?

If you would like to donate a brand new toy, book, game or stocking filler to our appeal then please drop your donation in to The Marlene Reid Centre reception, Monday to Friday between 9am & 5pm. Please be aware these must be brand new, unopened packaging, and unwrapped presents to pass our safety criteria for the appeal, don't worry our eleves will do the rest.

Some of the favorites include:

  • Dolls, Prams and Role Play Toys
  • Lego / Building Blocks
  • Cars and Action Figures
  • Christmas Selection Boxes

All donations for this year's appeal need to be received before Monday 5th December 2022 to get to the families in time, however any donations received after this date can still be stored for the next years appeal!

If you'd like to make a monetary donation, want to know how your business can set up a collection station this season or need any other information, call us on 01530 510515 for further information.

If you are organisation and would like to support our appeal please email info@mrc.uk.net and we will be happy to send you a collection pack with our posters and promotional materials. Alternatively, help us to save paper by downloading your poster here!
