Free NHS Funded Transport for Covid-19 and flu vaccinations

To help people that are unable to travel to a vaccination clinic a free patient transport service is now available.

The service has been set up to provide eligible residents in Leicestershire and Rutland the opportunity to get vaccinated this autunn by helping them to get to and from a vaccination clinic if they live remotely or have no other means of transportation.

Support is available for:

  • Residents in older adult care homes & their staff
  • Adults aged 65 years & over (who turn 65 by 31st March 2024)
  • 6 months to 64 years in clinical at-risk groups ie asthma, SMI, LD, etc
  • Frontline health & social care workers
  • Immunosuppressed patients & their household contacts aged 12 to 64 years
  • Carers aged 16 to 64 years (registered & unregistered)
  • Pregnant women
  • 2 & 3-year-olds (who turn 3 years by 31/08/23, appointments via GP practice only)
  • Children & young people (reception to year 11)
  • Working aged adults in long-stay residential care homes & settings & their staff


To check your eligibility please call: 01530 512456. We will check your eligibility and book you into a suitable Covid-19 and flu clinic. The service will arrange for people to be taken to and from their appointment, all at no cost.
