The Coalville Christmas Toy Appeal

Each Year, for more than 30 years, MRC Community Action has been supporting local families at Christmas-time with our Christmas Toy Appeal.

In December 2022 we gave over 250 children & young adults a large sack of toys each to open on Christmas day. Each year we collect brand new books, games, toys and gifts for local children who, for whatever reason, may not receive presents this Christmas. All children are referred from agencies working within North West Leicestershire and are ages 0 to 18 years.

If you would like to donate a brand new toy, book, game or stocking filler to our appeal then please drop your donation in to The Marlene Reid Centre reception, Monday to Friday between 9am & 5pm. Please be aware these must be brand new, unopened packaging, and unwrapped presents to pass our safety criteria for the appeal, don't worry our elves will do the rest.

Some of our favourites include:

  • Dolls, Prams and Role Play Toys
  • Lego / Building Blocks
  • Cars and Action Figures
  • Christmas Selection Boxes

All donations for this year's appeal need to be received before Monday 11th December 2023 to get to the families in time, however any donations received after this date can still be stored for the next years appeal!

Following the success of our Amazon wish-list through the 'lock down' Christmas, we will setting up another for this year for those who would like to donate but cannot deliver to our centre in person. All you need to do is follow the link to the amazon list, purchase as many or as little items as you can and Amazon will do the rest delivering the items directly to our centre, contact free!
