1. Where are we now and financial language.
Direct debits, standing orders, current and savings accounts. Debit and credit. Personal budgets. Banks or Post Office. ATM’s and their uses. APR.
SESSION 1: Weds 19th October 10am til 12 Noon & SESSION 2: Thurs 20th October 10am til 12 Noon
2. Making ends meet using a Bank or Post Office.
Overdrafts, loans, Credit Cards, Cheques. Types of bank Accounts. Writing cheques and paying bills. Checking your account balance. Dealing with Debit.
SESSION 1: Weds 26th October 10am til 12 Noon & SESSION 2: Thurs 27th October 10am til 12 Noon *** FULLY BOOKED ***
3. Keeping track of your finances.
Reading and understanding statements. Internet banking. Keeping receipts. Balancing and budgets. Arrears, CCJ’s, Court Summons, Debt collections, Bailiffs. How to querying your statement details, Store Cards, Credit Unions.

4. Planning ahead for the future.
Revisit budgets. Coping with unexpected expenses. Opening a bank account. Savings. Shopping habits. Getting the best deal, Holidays, Savings Stamps.

Jenny Rodgers is the Next Step Advisor whose office base is at The Marlene Reid Centre. Jenny's role is to provide information and advice on Learning and Work Opportunities to individuals throughout North West Leicestershire. This service is FREE and CONFIDENTIAL and IMPARTIAL.
One to one appointments can be made to discuss:
* Careers changes and opportunities
* Compiling or updating a CV
* Assistance with completing Job Application forms
* Help with job searching and posting CV's on Jobsites
* Volunteering opportunities
* Gaining additional qualifications and skills
* Funding towards course fees
* Interview skills and confidence building
* Identifying existing transferable (or 'soft') skills ie Organisational/Time Management Skills/Holding Full Driving Licence/Communication and People Skills etc
Jenny can also offer appointments at Outreach locations if necessary ie Children's Centres or on the Mobile Community Playbus when visiting out of reach villages within North West Leicestershire.

In the REACT Training Room
The REACT training scheme provides opportunities for disadvantaged individuals within North West Leicestershire. The scheme offers volunteering and on-the-job training for the long-term unemployed. Training focuses on the following skills:-
