About Us

MRC Community Action (formerly known as NWLCVS)

MRC Community Action is a Local Development Agency, which is a non-profit-making, independent of government (central and local), a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity.

It employs paid staff, both full and part-time, provides on-the-job placements for people on training schemes and involves volunteers in its work.

We aim to:

  • Improve the quality of life in North West Leicestershire and beyond.
  • Work in partnership with individuals, families, groups and organisations to encourage, facilitate, manage and deliver positive community activity.
  • We are committed to added value and continuous improvement in the initiatives we promote and the way we work.
  • We are committed to equality of opportunity and the elimination of discrimination.

The Chief Executive of MRC Community Action is Dave Ahlquist

Dave has overall responsibility for developing, managing and co-ordinating the work of the agency and for ensuring that all practices are consistent with Board of Trustees and Management policies.

Participation and Recreation Project (PaRP!)- Community Playbus, Rural Play, Toy Appeal, Toy Library and Play Resource Centre.
